Stanley Emerson Richards, age 94, of 328 Starr Ridge Road, Gaffney, passed away Monday July 6, 2026, in Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and was a son to James and Gwendolyn Gibson Sargeant. Stanley was the husband of Pamela Browne Richards.

He was a high school graduate and worked for many years as a Security Guard before retirement. Stanley, a Father of the Church, was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church as a Trustee. He was a member of Limestone Lodge #117, Cherokee Consistory #27 both of Gaffney, SC, and Royal Arch Chapter, of Blacksburg, SC.

In addition at his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Knuckles; a step- sister, Vanessa Knuckles.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Pamela Browne Richards, of the home; a daughter, Georgette Knuckles, of Bronx, NY; a sister, Patricia Knuckles, of New York; three grandchildren, Tyson Sarratt, Timothy Knuckles, and Shantawana Davis; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be Friday, July 24, 2026, 1:30 p.m., in Ebenezer Baptist Church with The Reverend Freddie Davidson officiating. A visitation will be held 30 mins prior to service at the church at 1:00 p.m. He will lie-in-state in the church at 12:00 p.m.

The family is receiving friends at the home from the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
