Shawn Dawkins , age 53, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 16th, in Richland Hospital, Columbia.

He was born in Gaffney and was the son of Wilma (Lavander) Dawkins Davis and the late Herbert O. Smith.

Shawn joined Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. He was a 1986 Gaffney High School graduate and was employed as a cosmetologist.

Shawn was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Smith. In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish loving memories: 3 brothers, Michael Studyvance and James Kip" Dawkins, both of Gaffney, Joel Trent Dawkins (Quensen) Gaffney; 4 sisters, Robin Williams, of New Jersey, Shavonia "Necey" Lawrence (Darrell), of Washington, D.C., Traci Smith and Dysheka Smith, both of Gaffney; two aunts, Maxine Anderson (David), of New York City and Trudy Dawkins, of Gaffney; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary with the Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park. The family is sister, Dysheka "Bookie" Smith, 611 Garner Street, Gaffney. The Gilmore Mortuary
