Robert Lee Hardy, age 78, of 208 W. Dr. LM Rosemond Ln, Gaffney, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, in his home.

He was born October 4, 1947, in Cherokee County to Thomas and Nellie Smith Hardy.

Robert was educated in the public schools of Cherokee County. He was employed for many years before retiring as a Truck Driver for the City of Stamford, Connecticut.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Hardy, Jr., Roland Hardy, and Jimmy Lee Hardy.

Robert leaves to cherish loving memories: his five daughters, Robbin Allen (Rodney), Felicia Galmer, Latoya Galmer Patricia Davis (Ricky), all of Gaffney, SC, and Amia Hames, of Blacksburg, SC; his sisters, Mary (Sullivan ) Montgomery, Janet Lindsay, Nellie Wilkerson, Juanita (Thomas) Edwards, Annette (Kelvin) Smith, Kathy Hardy, and Selma Blue, all of Gaffney, SC; a brother, Charles Oglesby, of Gaffney, SC; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hardy, of Gaffney, SC; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in Concord Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
