Mrs. Minnie Petty Smith , wife of The Reverend Arthur J. Smith, of 124 Short Street, Mooresboro, NC, passed away Friday, February 11th, in Wendover Hospice House. She was a graduate of Green Bethel High School in Boiling Springs, NC; a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church in Gaffney; a retired employee of Freedom Lodge in Shelby. A loving wife, grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son William Andrew Smith, sister, Alice thompson, brother Archie Petty. She leaves to cherish loving memories; her husband for 66 years, Rev. Arthur J. Smith; one son, Jay Lewis Smith, of Shelby; five daughters, Carolyn Sharpe (Daryl), of Mooresboro, NC, Yvonne Black (David), of Shelby, NC, Chris Lee (Maurice), Of Mooresboro, NC, Martha Roseboro, of Forest City, NC, Sarah Smith, of the home; daughter-in-law, Althea Smith; sisters, Nellie Hollis (Victor) and Gracie Smith, of Gaffney; Lula Lee (Earnest), of Shelby; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel in Gaffney, SC with The Reverend Tony Makeupson officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service. Interment will follow in Suck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
