Martha Jean Houey, 80, of 349 Estelle Road, Gaffney, passed away Saturday, June 17 ^th , in her home.

Widow of Eyules Jerome Houey, she was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late Charlie Crate and the late Gracie Jefferies Crate Galmer.

Martha was a member of Concord Baptist Church.  She was a retiree of Gaffney Manufacturing.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Houey; seven siblings, Charles, Rickey Dean, and George Arthur Crate, Barbara Ann, Catherine, Lavon, and Henry Galmer; and a grandchild, Debries "Breezy" Houey.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: three daughters, Teressa Tate (Wayne), Tela Felder, and Rose Houey, all of Gaffney; a sister, Diane Mayberry, of Gaffney; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; an aunt, Terriza Jefferies, of Silver Spring, MD; sisters-in-law, Sallie Houey Vivian Houey, Annie Byers, Margaret Crate, and Ray Lou Wallace; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 23rd, 1:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Michael Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.
