Deacon Samuel Agnew , 71, of 940 Limestone Court, Apt. M-58, Gaffney, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home He was born June 15, 1950 in Cherokee County to Robert and Vivian Jones Agnew. Samuel was a member of Indian Hill Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Grounds Keeper, and helped with the Shut In. For multiple years, he was a caregiver for his mother until her passing. He was also the caregiver for his brother, Robert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Authur Agnew and a special friend, Ollie Norris. He leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Earl Agnew (Dana), of Gaffney, SC; a daughter, Leatrice Agnew, of Gaffney, SC; a brother, Roger Agnew, of Gaffney, SC; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 8th, at 2:00 p.m., in Indian Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. He will be in state at 1:00 p.m. in the church.
